Salty Crab Ft. Myers Beach

Thursday, September 28th, 2022. A day that all of us here at The Salty Crab, and the Ft. Myers Beach community will remember, always. It was a day when life as we knew it changed- forever. A day that will forever be etched in our hearts. As Hurricane Ian approached Southwest Florida, no one knew the magnitude of what we were going to be witness to. What was supposed to be a Category 3 storm off-shore, turned, increased it’s speed, and took a direct hit to Ft. Myers Beach and it’s surrounding areas as a Category 4 Hurricane, with maximum sustained winds at 150mph, tying the record for the 5th strongest hurricane on record to hit the United States. The images speak for themselves. The changes brought upon by Ian are devastating, and the impact will be forever felt not only in the FMB landscape, but in the hearts of anyone who knows and loves FMB. However despite this, one thing remains true, and that is that FMB, and we here at The Salty Crab are strong, resilient, and above all else, a family and community.
